Wacky Rankings

Due to my location (NY) and financial situation, I was pretty set on going to SUNY Binghamton. The price was right, and I assumed it had a very strong business program due to it being ranked #40 on BusinessWeek's 2008 rankings. But now as I surf the web, I see it is ranked 120something on the USNEWS rankings. I know rankings arent everything, but 40th and 120th is a big difference, and I really have no other way of finding out what school has the better program. Now i really dont know what to think. I obviosly want to major in something in the area of business (probably acounting) and I would like to go to the best business school for the best price. I would also ptefer to get a job after graduation in NY, but it wouldnt be a big deal if i didnt.

So now I really dont know what to do. How would you guys rank the following schools for my situation and how big is the difference between each one?

SUNY Binghamton (School of Management) (approx $18k after grants)
University of Maryland (Smith) (approx $29k after grants)
University of Delaware (Lerner) (approx $20k after grants)

Thanks a lot, Im really in a jam.

anyone????

Smith doesn't justify paying another 10k if money is a concern, and I can't see Lerner being better than Binghamton. I'd stick with Binghamton.

Location and cost savings at SUNY will more than make up for the difference which, to be honest, isn't huge. USNews isn't very significant when you get to the 40-120 range, and businessweek is pretty bad at any range.

any other opinions?

Smith is a good school. A number of internships are available through its career center and many others are accessible due to its location. While accounting is a strong program and many firms recruit, friends who go there say there's a focus towards finance and marketing.
Of those three, Smith has the best recognized business school. Not sure if that matters that much though.
