How much time did they give u to decide? And how many if any follw up letters etc did u send in? Thanks.

Congratulation babykrishna! I too got into Princeton and Brown. I had always wanted Princeton from the start… If you need some help deciding, PM me.

I am a girl and not a URM. I found out EST today…around noon/1ish and I have a week to decide =/

babykrishna, I’m in the same position as you! I had decided on Brown, but I got the call today from Princeton. I can’t quite believe it but I think I’ll be going to Princeton; it’s been my dream school for a long time.

only 3 CCers off the waitlist? is that the entire first wave?

@muffinish: why did you choose princeton?

@babykrishna
It’s hard to pinpoint my reason but Princeton always appealed to me more than Brown. I am also not a fan of Brown not having any required courses or a core.

ahh congrats you guys! i wish i got a call =/ i said yes to harvard…anyone else in a somewhat similar situation?

Congratulations to those who have heard the good news!

If you are anxiously awaiting word from Princeton don’t give up hope. This process will probably continue through the middle of the summer for most of the Ivies. For each of you who takes Princeton’s offer and matriculates, a corresponding spot will open at another fine school. As those schools go to their wait lists, a student currently committed to Princeton might decide that she would rather attend her wait list school. It will be a game of musical chairs until each school has filled its class. Hopefully, more of you will soon get good news as well.

No figures have yet been announced by the Admission Office regarding the number of students to be taken from the wait list but Dean Rapelye did have the following to say at the most recent council meeting:

I just got in to Princeton off the waitlist today!
Got a call from Admissions today at 5:15 PM Eastern Time.

so sad… I’m forced to resort to smaller and smaller bits of hope until I finally fade away… well, congrats to you who have heard the good news.

My D got the call yesterday (right before CC went down). It was of course exciting and incredibly unexpected. She was waitlisted at all of her top schools, but she was perfectly content with the school she’d chosen (Swat).

I still can’t believe it. I don’t think I will until the Princeton Envelope arrives.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

@Cadillac, Sad isn’t worth it. This ain’t over, and you’re in at a great school. Love the one you’re with, and, if Princeton comes to its senses and realizes what an asset you’d be, you can decide if you want them.

One of my daughter’s friends received a call from Princeton yesterday, but she’s declining the offer. So that’s another spot free! Best of luck to all.

Son got a call last night… we’re in NJ

Did anyone receive their packets in the mail yet?

The admissions lady who talked to my D said that packets were being mailed today.

Alright thank you =). I am ready to have the tangible proof in my hands!

yes they mailed everything this afternoon.
i called to see if i could get my financial aid beforehand but they said they are not releasing info till 10 AM tomorrow (so just wait for your mail!)

im still leaning to stanford so there might be another open spot. but i wana get some more info before i make a decision. we only have until next thursday to reply, so they will probably have the second round of waitlist released the following week.

Yeah, I heard. When they told me next Thursday, I was thinking “whoa that’s pretty early” but no worries :-).
