Okay so if I got wait listed at the University of Chicago, what are my chances of getting into the following schools?

Cornell
Columbia
Duke
Yale

Any help is appreciated!

They are all still reaches, but it is comforting that at least you were not rejected at Chicago. All schools look for different things

Thanks collegebound! That definitely helps.

Anybody else?

The University of Chicago’s acceptance percentage was 8.8% (as you probably know, since it’s all over the forums); Cornell’s is almost twice that (16.2%) and Duke’s is also higher at 11%. Those are numbers from last year, but since neither place has had a notable surge in apps (unlike Chicago), I would be surprised if either had a rate lower than 9% this year. Your chances are still good at these schools, not sure about the others (with lower percentages), but I agree with collegebound - another school might not care as much about one of your weaknesses as Chicago ultimately did, or they might weigh one of your strengths more heavily in your favor.

Thank you for your response! You’ve definitely helped curb my anxiety haha
