Wait listed!

Hi, I was just wondering a few things.

I was just wait listed for Dartmouth's class of 2011 (Bummer.. but not completely :)) and I was wondering how many people they put on the wait list.. on average (I know it changes every year) and how many are normally expected to be taken off of it.

I also know that I have the oppoutunity to send in more supplemental materials, but whats the best way of going about getting off the waiting list and into the class of 2011! I know Dartmouth is where I'd LOVE to be, so I want to make sure what I send in to help my case when they re-evaluate my application helps. Oh, and congrats to everyone who got in :)

I was waitlisted as well, and I'd really appreciate the same information.

Also, if there's anyone here who has been waitlisted and later accepted, all advice is welcome :)

concentrate on the schools you have been accepted to. proceed as if admission to dartmouth is not possible and then it will be a great suprise if you happen to get in off the waitlist.

I was waitlisted at Dartmouth, but I got into Yale and Stanford!!!!

sticks out tongue at Dartmouth

That's so crazy! I got waitlisted too haha, but I didn't get into any first-tier schools. Just my safeties (Rollins and UF). I also got waitlisted at Duke and Johns Hopkins, but I'm not putting myself on a waitlist at any of those places.

Dartmouth places 1000 on the waiting list. Approx 400 will choose to stay on the list. Up to 40 are expected to get off the list.

where is that info coming from 1ofeach?

I'm an alumni interviewer and get updates from the sdmissions office.

Show more interest now, contact your regional rep, and ask if you could go to a session for admitted students, if they have one, to show just how much you want ot go there.

Is there a list of regional reps on the Dartmouth website. I searched the admissions page but wasn't able to find anything.

Call the admissions office. The receptionist has the list and he/she can give you the name of your regional rep plus their email.

My GC called today and an admissions rep said that there were 700-800 on the waitlist this year, I believe.
