Yeah, got my letter in December of 2009. :P

@Huskyhopeful-I am just across the bridge…20 minutes away. I do know quite a few that didn’t get letters today. Heard they go out in waves…

Lol! Thanks for the input, so you know of some freshmen applicants this year then, that got rejected or was it in your year?

@SSaaee55 Good luck to you tomorrow, man! You seem like a shoe in haha

Haha, my friends who got rejected are freshman applicants this year! This is probably the last wave of freshman applicants that I personally know until my friends’ younger siblings start applying in a few years. (starting to feel old here…)

It wouldn’t do any good to tell you how my class did. Also, they started doing the second half of March decisions window after I graduated from high school… My year, people were finding out as early as November 30. It was essentially rolling admissions.

How do you like UW?

Could anyone possibly tell me if they think I have a chance of being accepted? I have not received a letter yet. I have an 1800 SAT, rank in the top 25% in my class, 3.4 GPA unweighted, 6 AP classes, 4 Pre-AP, 4 advanced, ASB leadership, class officer, young life leader, Link Crew, NHS, varsity athlete, work part-time, lots of volunteer work, etc. Essays are always my strong point. I’m just nervous with my GPA being on the lower side due to my course load…

No one has heard from my school or neighbor school in SW Washington. In my school it’s rare to have a rejection to UW–given that’s with mostly 3.7+ GPA w/ 6+ AP/IB courses. Don’t think we have anything to worry about if none of us have received letters yet.

I just found out that I got into UC Irvine but I am still really nervous for UW Seattle! OMG the wait is killing me!!!

@absurdwombat yeah…you live pretty deep…prolly will hear back tmr.
@rkms95 What school do you go to and how close do you live from the UW

@huskyhopeful: I really enjoy it! I could go on and on about how it’s awesome, but I should probably get back to studying for finals (been taking a break to chime in). >_>

My profile in a nutshell: grew up in the area, computer science major, active member of several campus organizations, commuter (1-1.5 hr each way), have done internships (software eng), had part time campus job at one point (quit because of too much of a time commitment), and I would consider my life school/social/fitness/sleep balanced (okay, maybe a bit less on the sleep part, but hey, it’s college).

Feel free to PM me if you want to know any specifics or have any questions, rather than derailing the thread, heh. I’ve been mostly lurking on CC the past few months rather than actively posting… and I’ll most likely get back to you in a few days after I’m done battling with finals. :)

To everyone else: Don’t worry about it too much… though easier said than done. I know it’s been a long wait so far and the next two weeks might seem even longer. Some people have gotten acceptance letters right up to the end of March. Good luck!

Also, if you are waitlisted and/or rejected and plan on appealing the decision, please shoot me a PM for a pdf I wrote up a few years ago that has helped a few friends (and CCers) with successful appeals. I can’t guarantee anything, but it may be insightful in some ways.

@huskyhopeful I live an hour away from UW. A few from my school got letters yesterday…

@rkms are you an URM?

I’m still waiting for my decision, and like many of you, I’m nervous as hell. My SAT is 1870 and my UW cumulative GPA is 3.3. I’m really worried about my GPA. I basically took the heaviest course load in my sophomore and junior years. As a result, my GPA went on a DOWNWARD trend from 4.0 in my freshman year to a 2.8 in my junior year. However, I took a lighter course load this year (only 2 APs, no foreign language class thank god) and my GPA shot up to a 3.8 last semester (~3.4 cumulative). I did volunteer work and ECs like many of you but I’m worried because UW did not ask for my senior year grades (unlike other schools like Wisconsin or Pitt which got me in to those).

I’m wondering if my case can warrant an appeal in case I get rejected? Can I just send them my senior year grades?

are you in state? @rockycrrab

i live in Snohomish, approx. 30 - 45 minutes away from Seattle. i only personally know one person from my area who’s gotten a letter. i’m still freaking out though! i think that all my extracurriculars are impressive but i’m still worries :/

I’m in Renton and still haven’t received a letter. Really nervous and worried.

@rockycrrab uw does not look at transcripts or senior grades sent by schools until you are accepted. They look at the one you wrote down in their application. Once accepted, they will verify your school transcripts with the one you manually entered on the application.

About how long will it take me? CNJ here. :P
