Waiting for 10 more schools

Still waiting for UNC, UVA, NYU, BC, BU, CMU, UC (berk), Georgetown, WashU, and USC.

Already been accepted into UF, UM, and Umich.

Anyways, what are my chances for these schools?

My weighted GPA is a 3.7 and unweighted a 3.5 (9th to 11th)... Pretty low, I know, but my 9th grade gpa = 2.9, 10th = 3.8, 11th = 4.3.(weighted) My school send a midyear report for my senior year to all of these colleges and my gpa was a 4.6 (weighted). Anyways, my SATI score was 1370 (740 M, 630 V) and my SATII score was Writing (570), Math IC (710), Math IIC (700), WHistory (630). Good essays and rec for all of these school. Oh ya, I am Asian American, and been in the U.S for 6 years. Plz give some feedback.

I think u have a good shot at BC, BU is defintely a lock, CMU i think u will make it in there, UC Berk i think is a high reach (if your out of state), UNC and UVA defintely reachs (out of state), USC probably in there, Wash U, a high reach, and Gtwon (forget about it, they like high averages). I hope I wasn't harsh. No one can predict your chances, hope for the best and good luck w. all of these schools.

you got accepted to dartmouth?

wow you applied to a TON of schools... I only applied to 3

huh? how did dartmouth get in here?

anyway, i agree with dog87, except for CMU b/c i don't know what school you applied to. if you applied to the school for social sciences or w/e, you should be fine. it gets pretty reachy with the schools that are for electrical engineering and computer science, and even for tepper (biz).

WHy did you apply to so many? Where all of the schools ones you really wanted to go to? Or was it for pride and bragging rights? Just curious....

er... i applied to more schools than she did (13, i think; although i'm only applying for financial aid to 8). it's not always for pride or bragging rights. i personally did it so i'd be able to shop for financial aid better later. yes, it was a pain in the ass trying to complete the application, but my app. fee was waived everywhere i applied. besides, i never really visited colleges ('rents don't care that i do so won't drive me or help pay for transportation fares), so i ended up applying to different kinds of colleges so later (once accepted) i can visit the different types of colleges and see what i really like. of course, i didn't just do this blindly. i did as much research as i could before compiling my list, and i do have a general idea of what i want. but i still kept my list diverse just in case.

Thanks for all the replies. My reasons for applying to so many is similar to taurustorus'. Also, many of the schools I applied to are because of family and counsler's recommendations (especially the schools up north). All of the schools I applied to also have good business program (Future Major), so like taursustorus, just wanted to keep my options open. Anyways, thanks againfor the feedback.

Oh, and also I applied to Tepper, to me CMU was a reach ever since the beginning.

Well you got into some good schools already, what state are you from and what's your class rank.

UNC, UVA and UCB are all reaches for out of state. I think Wash U is a reach and Georgetown is definitely a reach. Tepper/CMU had 27% admit rate last year so that is reach/match, NYU and BC I think you're probably OK but they are selective esp NYU Stern, BU you're in. I'm thinking your GPA/class rank might be a slight problem, but you definitely have a decent chance to get into maybe half of your list.

Thanks, I am from Florida (So UF was alot easier to get into). My school doesn't have class rank, for my whole class only consists of 75 students.

bump.......

6 years, and 570 writing? i think they'll overlook that b/c you have 630V which is better than 700 writing. anyway. great chances

Thanks. I don't know about 630 verbal being better than 700 writing, but do you guys think colleges would look more at math scores writing since I am applying to their business school?

bump......
