Just a note if accepted and you know your going to Penn state pay the deposit! Your given priority for Housing and registration. It helped my son to get housing in renovated and get into all his classes
How do you know that liberal arts has started to release decisions?
That’s a good tip airway1. A friend with a daughter there said the same thing. Her middle DD just got accepted and she said they are paying the deposit at risk simply because of that (apparently it’s not necessarily her first choice).
My DS got accepted 11/5. But he wasn’t checking his portal so we didn’t know until the package came in mail on 11/9.
Anyone else also apply for Schreyer? and if so, is it the key to committing or not?
Still waiting… anyone with high stats 1500+ not hear yet as well?
@dcron227 In the decisions thread a student said they were accepted into the College of Liberal Arts at UP on 11/12/19
Besides for yourselves or your DD/DS, has anyone heard anecdotally from kids around your area about recent acceptances to UP? I’ve only heard of one from our school (which is not to say there aren’t more).
I’m just trying to get a feel for the pace of decision releases right now.
My daughter heard of someone at her school in NJ that got in but doesn’t know his stats or major. She is still waiting - applied end of sept to HHD.
I haven’t heard of anyone this week, but there were a few from HS last week. It seems, and perhaps I’m wrong, like those who applied closer to the November deadline have been hearing. My D applied August 1. This wait feels so long. Lol.
@snakster yup as a parent of a freshman I was happy with the renovated but unhappy with the location. East Hall is so far away from classes.
@Mlo625 same here. August 1st…
Seems like a lull. Darn
@OceanIsle I hope our kids, as well as everyone else’s on this forum, receive good news soon!!!
Any idea if the decisions for people who went in undecided come out last?
I was wondering this too. My daughter applied DUS for Summer
@dnk2444 , Oh I hope not! S20 applied DUS with no summer option.
My daughter applied early August for Dept. of Education and we have not heard yet.
Refresh, refresh, refresh, LOL!
For borderline kids - are they typically waitlisted or do they know either way by dec? My kid has a 3.6 (but with several honors and dual enrollment classes) and a 27 ACT.
There’sno “typical” because it’s only the second year of the CommonApp and EA. The rollout last year was terrible, with applicants learning about their fates in seemingly random order and the university not keeping with the deadlines they have announced.
So far, this year has been more logical and orderly, but since last year didn’t work, for all intents and purposes “knowing by December” is basically in its first year.
The last acceptance I have seen or heard was from 11/12. Anyone else hear anything from their area or online since then? Of course I’m splitting hairs now wondering if “Tuesday” is a the next day they will release decisions since it will have been a week.
