It kinda looks like the US Economic reality is going to really affect the International population most in terms of rejections and waitlists. And certainly not just at schools like Middlebury. I would interested to see the break down of the percentages in terms of US and International population for applications, acceptances, and waitlists. Like how many of the 8000 applications were international (just like the break it down via sex)? And of those what % are accepted?

I agree. Both rejections I got congratulated me for my outstanding academics, but explained that they couldn’t give me a spot in their class because they couldn’t offer any financial assistance.
So yup, the US economy is really affecting Internationals…well at least it affected me. :(

I think that was a standard wait-list spiel.

I’ve gotten a waitlist at Middlebury, WUSTL, and Tufts.

Middlebury is my favorite choice, if I assume I get rejected from Brown, so I accepted my place of the wait list.

Would 2 additional recommendations seem too overbearing?

No. I think a updated transcript, any new relevant material, a letter from you, and one or 2 recs focussed on Midd would be fine. Worked for DS last year…

Waitlisted at Middlebury, Amherst, Swarthmore, Williams, WashU, and Penn. Shiiiiiit

Got waitlisted. Midd, Upenn, and northwestern were my top 3. got accepted into Northwestern and rejected at Penn. Will relinquish my spot on the Middlebury waiting list

wait listed at Middlebury and Tufts, my top two choices. At least I have Vassar and Lafayette to fall back on.

waitlisted at Middlebury, washu, vassar, bowdoin

into tufts, northwestern, emory, rice, colby, BC

any idea of how many students were offered waitlist at Midd this year?

^^ its amazing how convoluted college admissions is; We both get waitlisted at Midd., but I get into Vassar and not Tufts, but you get into Tufts and not Vassar. brain****

Agreed. I’m definitely holding out for Midd, first choice, but I will probably enroll in NW.

The numbers don’t look promising…
