Ben, I was wondering if you had any stats on how many apps were put on the waiting list this year, and how many (historically) accept a position on the waiting list.
thanks

Not off the top of my head, but I can give you ballpark numbers. About 150-ish people are placed on the waiting list. Typically, all but about 20 or 30 accept the spots.

The number accepteded from that list varies widely. Last year it was 0, the year before that it was 43 (of 123 who took the spot), I forget what it was my year (but it was nonzero, and probably not tiny) and the year before that it was 0. So on average the chances of getting in off the waitlist are not tiny, especially if you express your interest through regular contact with the admissions office.
