There is a decisions thread, but it was started pretty early and so is buried on page two or three by now. I’ve been waiting to post on it till all my son’s results are in…but it could be bumped (I think there are two entries?)!

Hi Everyone, To whoever said this is harder on the parents than the kids - I agree!

My Daughter was Rejected by her “early action” Chapman… that was hard on her, especially since the rest would take SO long to hear from.

Then she was accepted to her backup - University of Redlands… that made it a little more relaxed around here… It stopped the “what if I don’t get in anywhere?”

Then she was accepted to CalArts - woohoo Great School and Competitive program… so everyone feeling real good… But Emerson was still high on her list…WAITING WAITING…

No from Emerson, No from Northwestern, Yes from American Academy of Dramatic Arts LA (Chicago Unified Walk in), No from Pace and still a few more out there Syracuse (we just read about the “waves”), University of Texas-Austin and Brown… I think that is all… YIKEs

It is enough to really make me crazy… But my daughter is so calm and really happy about CalArts… Thank goodness.

I want to thank you all for all your posts, it truly saved us… And congratulations to all the acceptances!

AFFM I wish you would have 15 posts, please post, I do want to PM with you.
How do you know No from Pace? Have you gotten that actual letter in hand?

And Congrats on Cal ARts what an accomplishment! That was my D’s dream school.

Congrats on CalArts!!!

Mom2gals we got a waitlisted letter in the mail from Pace at the beginning of last week if that helps. My daughter was a call back and a phone call.

Stesusmad, thank so much for telling me that. I feel so bad that your daughter endured a callback, AND a phone call, had her hopes up from those two very positive signs and then got a waitlist. However, how we would love love to be in your position right now with a waitlist letter, that would mean everything in the world to us right now.
Did the letter say which program she is waitlisted for? and did they talk to you about the screen acting program. Thanks so much for responding. I want to abbreviate you to STD but… I dont think that would be very nice so I won’t be lazy and I’ll spell you out ;)

M2g LOL! How about SSM:) She is okay as she was lucky enough to have other offers… And I know it’s luck! She went to the second room and did five monologues and sang a song at CMU but didn’t “get the call” You just never know:/ She liked the New Schools program a lot as well as being a big fan of the New School in general, she was called last Friday for that. At Pace she was wait listed for the Theater program. The bfa for film and TV is a separate program. I emailed to clarify. I’d like her to wait for the last set of email/letters, and waitlists…but she really liked the women at the new school. I guess she should go with her gut.

New School will be a fabulous program, She sounds like she is almost at that deciding point and how bout that she got a lot of love at CMU, very nice.

Thank you! I keep hearing everyone has their path. What happens will all work out! I’m very grateful for the info on this forum!

Stesusmad—New School is tied for top choice for my daughter…congrats!

Mom2gals. My daughter got a phone call from Pace the week after Chicago Unifieds and they told her then that she had not gotten into the BFA (which she already knew because she didn’t get a call back after audition) and would she like them to consider her for BA.

Thanks odddad! It was high on my daughters list so she is happy!

Congrats, SSM!

We are, not so patiently and not so happily, waiting on Webster’s decision and Otterbein’s FA letter.

Udog, I don’t know Webster, but have heard great things about Otterbein! Good luck. This process is a killer!

So nice to hear that things are falling into place for many on here. Good luck to everyone still waiting after this long, arduous journey. Not too much longer!

Udog, we know a technical theater girl from D’s school who attends Webster and loves the program. She’s in her second year and feels really at home there. D got waitlisted at U of Mich and felt really excited as she thought it would be such a reach to get into. CC threads indicate that U Mich rarely accepts off of the wait list. But if so it looks like our decision ordeal could go to the end of May. U of M said she would be notified by May 22. We’re still waiting for one more top choice college, USC, before we hunker down and decide. Also waiting on financial aid packages. Got a good nights sleep last night for a change. You’re right Researchmaven, not too much longer!
