i hate waiting i hate waiting i hateeeeeee waiting :(

me too...what exactly are we hating? :)

what would you do to find out now? i'd wash an admissions officer's car for a year.

well, it really depends on whether I got in or not..

Because I wrote my essay on Shrek, I decided that if I got into USC, I'd watch the movie twice every month for a year.

Well, this might sound a little crazy....ok to me it's insane (i <3 meat).....but i vowed not to eat meat for a year if i got to go to USC

Yeah, I'm having some application jitters, too. Is there any way that we can print preview our submitted applications? I tried to a few days ago, because I want to see if there were any mistakes, and just in general to alleviate my fears. I keep on having nightmares about turning in an app. that was complete, but was blank on the print preview screen.Yeah, I'm stressing big time.

I'm going through stages right now where one day i'll be totally fine and think that I have a decent chance at getting in, then the next day i'll be totally freaking out and thinking that I have no shot at all.

I'm definitely stressing...

I emailed USC and asked if the online applicaion could be printed- here is their answer:
"Unfortunately, the online application does not have an option for printing as it was not designed to be printed and mailed to us. If you wish to keep a copy for your records, you could print the completed application from your browser window. If you choose this option, we recommend you copy and paste your essay and r?sum? to text documents so as to capture the entire contents of those documents."

i have dreams about usc every night. last night i dreamed that the woman who interviewed me came to my school to find the person who wrote my rec letter because it was written so eloquently that they wanted him to teach at usc; they called it the "genius letter." they forgot about who the letter was recommending. :(

well I applied to Resident Honors Program and we get our decisions late Januaray. The decision day is approaching....fast!!!! I am getting very nervous and reason is because I fear that they might miss a crucial part of my application when they are reviewing it, might emphasize on one weakness too much ,etc. But, my fears got alleviated when a friend told me that admissions is very thorough.
I turned the application by paper and made copies of everything. I always look at my application and just make sure I did everything correctly. I have days when I'm confident I will get in, then a second later, I feel like I have no chance to get in.. it is truly crazy.

Relax. For anyone not busy with financial aid apps, January and February are vacation time from college application stress. Instead of focusing on how much you "have" to get into USC, I suggest you spend this time conjuring positive images of what it would be like to go to your #2 or #3 schools. I bet you'll come to see that you could have a fabulous experience at any number of schools.

Seriously just forget about it, and hope the first letter you get is an acceptance package (which was the case for me) certainly made up for rejections I got later ...(Was depressed when my first choice rejected me, although I ended up going to a much better school anyhow with better reputation and ranking.) My package came in during my spring break, certainly made me happy for the whole break..

haha, i guess this is probablly a stupid question, but do all acceptances come in the form of a big package or do some of them come in a small envelope?

Whatever you do, don't look over your applications! I did and stressed for like, two weeks about typos I made, things I wish I didn't say, things I wished I did say...insaneness. Just leave it alone and hope for the best!

Also, it helps to kind of make peace with your safeties and get into the mindset that you will love wherever you go. I'm sure it'll help come Spring.

The best advice is probably to just do a mind wipe a la Men in Black and enjoy senior year...

Acceptances come in a big package. Don't freak out if you get an small envelope though, USC sends a lot of mail (financial aid stuff, request for midyear report)
