<p>Boltz, it was the BIG gold envelope that all the regular admissions people received back in March. Then the big white packet arrived a day later.</p>
<p>Got an email today.</p>
<p>Dear [Me] ,
The May enrollment confirmation deadline is now past. The current number of students who have confirmed their enrollment at the University of Washington is sufficiently high that I cannot offer you admission from the waitlist at this time. However, I would like to retain your name on the waitlist. As we move past mid-June, I may begin to see that enrollment cancellations will allow me to make some additional offers of admission. While this is my hope, I cannot guarantee that this will happen.
In view of this information, if you no longer wish to be on the waitlist for the Seattle campus of the University of Washington, please inform us by replying to this email. Otherwise, we will continue to hold your place on the waitlist.
I very much appreciate not only your continued interest in the University of Washington, but also the time and effort you have put into the application and admission process. I will update you again between mid-June and mid-July (if not sooner).
Sincerely,
Philip Ballinger, Ph.D.
Assistant Vice President for Enrollment and Director of Admissions
University of Washington
Seattle, WA</p>

<p>The wait…PART III!!!
Personally I think people should consider enrolment cancellations ;)</p>
<p>I got that same email. I dont know what to do :(</p>
<p>My daughter got that letter too…and at least one other friend. Did they take anyone off the list? Last year they only kept about 120 after the May waitlist admissions.</p>
<p>My question is - how does the waitlist look like and by which principle it was composed. Who was put first and who was put last?</p>
<p>seatac: I don’t have a source to back this up, but I’ve heard that the waitlist is more like a “bucket” of applicants. They will be all re-evaluated equally as opposed to already being in a list. Again, I don’t have a reliable citation for this, just something I’ve heard over the years.</p>
<p>Has anyone who’s wait listed heard anything recently?</p>
