I applied to Case under the Early Action option, and was deferred. Recently, I found out that I was waitlisted when decisions came out two weeks ago. I've been looking through CC threads and the Case Western page, and it seems that no one was rejected. Apparently, Case simply waitlisted everyone who did not receive an acceptance. Does anyone know for sure that they handed out some rejections as well?

Also, what are usually the chances of getting of the waitlist for Case Western? When would I be notified? Case Western is one of my top choices, and I'm really looking to get in. Thanks.

Thats shocking. Nobody rejected. Apparently the admission at Case is not all that difficult. They only gave limited spots to the best students and also to the local students. Now they are waiting to fill in the vacancies created when most of the students have gone to their preferred colleges. So I have a feeling many waitlisted students are going to hear from Case.

Not that difficult to figure out guys…just look at the common data set.
For 2012 -13 total men that applied 8,164, admitted 4,393, accepted place at case 763
Women that applied 6,614, admitted 3,634, accepted place at case 608 for a record number of 1361 incoming freshman.

3,480 Men & Women were offered place on WL, of that 1,737 accepted a WL spot and only 39 were offered admission from WL.

You can do the percentage math yourselves if you like.

FYI, Case has already stated that for 2013 they had a record number of applicants. Over 18,000 verses last years 14,778.

Also, as a side note…about 70% of last years class was out of state students. Case is not just for the locals anymore.

Also, it might interest you to know that if you are an international seeking admission and financial aid, Case only admitted 5 internationals last year with FA. The aid averaged over $28,000 each but only went to 5 applicants.
