i was accepted off the waitlist earlier today and was wondering if the financial aid packages given to accepted students off the waitlist is not as good because all the money was exhausted. If not at CMC, does anyone know this to be true at other elite LACs
I got my offer off the waitlist and it was no where near what I was expecting. I don’t think they’re out of money necessarily, but maybe just trying to rope kids in that can afford to pay full tuition, because why not? I’m not sure, just speculating
I don’t have any actual knowledge, this is just speculation, but CMC does meet 100% of demonstrated need so I would think that would be regardless of when you get in. I suspect the difference is in what they believe your need is and what you believe your need is. (And I’m sure that’s probably true for a lot of people.)
To update everyone, I got my offer and it was no where close to what any other private school was offering not to mention public. For a school that purports to be a top school for meeting financial aid, I was very disappointed. I’m currently in the process of appealing but I doubt it will get anywhere
A lot of schools don’t meet full need for wait listed students. Perhaps they are one of those who don’t.
That sucks. Oh well
Has anyone heard of kids getting off the waitlist at CMC this year?
I got off and so did my friend. Unfortunately I had to decline my spot because they did not give me adequate FA
