Waitlist for Class

I enrolled for a Calculus I lecture, which requires a recitation. Apparently the time I want is full, and I'm on the waitlist at position number 5. Is it likely that I'll get in? Should I just choose the available recitation (early in the morning, ugh) in case that fills up as well?

Yeah definitely choose the recitation and your chances vary but don’t worry because there may be reserved spots which is why it’s full and those will open up soon.

Will I be able to keep my place on the waitlist for that recitation period if I enroll for the recitation that’s open right now?

No, I’m pretty sure that in order to enroll into another recitation, you have to drop your current one. If you do drop it, then you lose your waitlist spot. My advice is just hold on to the waitlist, if you don’t get it, you can just switch into an open one at the last minute.

All recitation periods are now under waitlist status. I’m 4th on the waitlist. Is there a high possibility I won’t get the class now?

4th isn’t bad. Don’t worry too much as you can meet with an advisor during welcome week and they can help sort things out. Like I said before, a lot of spots are just being held for welcome week so they will open up.
