Last night I was put on the waitlist. I’m looking for more information about this process like when I should hear back, chances, and how many people are typically put on the waitlist.
Stats wise I have a 23 ACT, 3.5 GPA, good extra curriculars, 3 teacher recs all around 8/10, and a possible hook of a double legacy.
Not many. Move on. Love the other schools that really want you and value your parents money.
I’m sorry you didn’t get the news you were hoping for. It doesn’t look like Miami admits a lot of students from the waitlist; but if Miami is your top choice, be sure to contact your admissions officer to express your continued interest. Mention the double legacy and why in particular you want to attend. Send them your first semester grades if they don’t already have them and they are good and mention any new awards or activities you’re involved in. Can’t hurt and it might help. Then focus on the other schools you’ve applied to and choosing the best one for you. There are lots of great schools out there!
