Waitlist notification date?

i recently found out that i was placed on the waitlist at bowdoin… does anyone know when i will find out if i have been accepted or not?

Probably not until after May 1 but the Bowdoin admissions director has announced that Bowdoin expects to dip into its wait list this year.

I was waitlisted too and the notification date has to be after May 1st, so they can see how many people are going to matriculate.

READ THIS, FELLOW WAITLISTEES!

Yes - I posted that before on another thread and no one seemed to notice it. There definitely seems to be hope for waitlistees this year, apparently because Bowdoin was concerned about overshooting on the number of incoming first years. It sounds as though Bowdoin has admitted fewer applicants than it actually expects to need to fill out the class and plans to dip into the wait list to fill out its class when it has a better sense of the yield numbers on the regular admits.

Any update on the volume of replies coming in, or is it still too early to judge?

I can't speak for sure, but my guess would be it's too early to judge. May 1st is still about 2 1/2 weeks away.

Do you think we'll be notified by phone or my mail?

My guess would be by phone, then followed by mail. I'm assuming admissions wants to know which waitlisted students are serious about attending, and inquiring by mail would take so much longer.

coupla weeks.....
