Well, I was waitlisted. I was wondering just some basic stuff about W&M waitlists, such as the size, the average accepted, and what the situation would be with regards to the St. Andrews joint degree program (for which I was waitlisted along with the college itself). Anyone have any info or experiences to share? Thanks!

How many people get put on (and taken off) the waitlist can very a lot each year. Check out W&M’s common data sets to get an idea of what the waitlist has been like in past years here [William & Mary -*Common Data Set](http://www.wm.edu/offices/iae/institutional_research_reporting/cds/index.php).

Waitlist info is in section C: First-time First-Year Admissions

So this means last year, approx. 17% were admitted from the waitlist, the year before that was 1%, the year before that was 12%, and the year before that, 6%. My guess is that the number will be below 10 this year, but that is still a decent amount of lucky waitlistees.

Don’t give up all hope, all of you out there! You will end up where you are meant to be! Life without W&M will not be better or worse, simply different, but only if you allow yourself to let go. Trust me, this is coming from a waitlisted ED applicant.

We encourage you to review the waitlist FAQ sight linked in the email decision you received. That will address most of your questions about the waitlist.

Unfortunately, as your decision email stated, we have no way to know at this time whether we will be able to admit any students off of the W&M waitlist or the joint degree program waitlist and won’t know that for sometime.

We encourage you to deposit elsewhere and give yourself some time to consider whether W&M is still something you wish to pursue. If so, remain on the waitlist and we’ll be in touch in mid June.
