William and Mary's Waitlist?

Has anyone been accepted off of W&M's waitlist yet? Especially instate applicants?

I'm also curious about when/how they contact a student if he/she has been accepted off of a waiting list. Do they call? If so, when (during the day, I mean). Or do they send emails etc.?

Thanks!

i was accepted off the waitlist but im out of state female. they called and left a message

congrats! I'm really hoping to get off the waitlist so I'm extremely nervous..but I'm also trying to settle with the school I've accepted to (UMW).

D got a phone call yesterday.

D is an OOS female.

thanks! good luck!

D spoke with the Director of Admissions this morning. The wait list is definitely active--possibly as many as 30+ students will be admitted off the list this year.

i just got off the waitlist, visting on tuesday and probably accepting the spot

I'm an instate- applicant and currently on the WL, haven't recieved any news yet. Anyone in Arlington VA or somewhere fairly close recieved news of their status?

I just got in an hour ago after getting a call from them! Have hope out there, I never thought I could get in but after sending in a couple of letters explaining my desire to attend I think they realized how much I wanted to go to w&m. By the way, I never visited to school officially, so I guess that doesn't count against you too much if you live far away.

I'm also OOS from washington

congrats to all of those getting in :)

I keep wondering why I haven't heard of any instate students getting accepted off of the list? I'm instate and I'm definitely getting really anxious-I'd love to go to WM

i agree with you completely, my dad's an alum there and got a few friends going there, and would love to join them. But also, i too haven't heard from any In-state getting off the waitlist, perhaps? they were only sending the OOS waitlist first? and then will offer admission to the IS students, or perhaps? they already have the 2/3 of IS students for the 2012 class, i hope its not the later of the two

I have heard of some IS students who were waitlisted at WM getting off a week or two ago. Hope this helps.

a while back when i was first put on the waitlist they told me they round out the class with the students from the waitlist. say a bunch of people decline them from new york then they replace them with other people from new york. i think it all just boils down to geographic diversity.

D and I toured the campus this morning. D met w/ the admissions director, D was told that all admissions for the class of 2012 would be completed by June 15th.

Im an OOS student and I just got off the wait list

did anyone who was admitted hear anything about financial aid? really in a pickle about what to do....i was accepted off of the waitlist today but the lady I talked to said something about there not being much financial aid remaining...i'm going to try to get some better information and make a good decision but anyone's input in the meantime would be greatly appreciated

When my daughter was taken off the waitlist in 2005 she had a very small window to give her decision. We had to work quickly with financial aid folks. The time was sooner though, end of May. We have a concern about this year's aid which was dated 6/20/08. Of course, her assigned fin aid person is on vacation and limited availability when she returns. The school should and I'm sure will give you the opportunity to review financial information before you make a decision BUT my guess is you need to be VERY proactive to make this happen.
