Hi,
I have received all my college decisions back and I am weighing my options. I was wait listed from one Ivy and another school of the same selectivity, which I would really love to attend. I do have some good options even if I don’t get off the waitlists, but they’re not my top choices. I sent letters of continued interest to places I was wait listed at and updated the schools with new things I have done since first submitting my application. My SAT composite was a 1440/1600. Should I take the SAT again to increase my chances? I know that there is a chance that these schools won’t even admit from the waitlist, but they’re schools I would really love to attend for more than just the name. I would have to take the May SAT, and there is a chance that the scores won’t get to the schools in time. Is it worth it? Any insight would be helpful!
No. That’s very transparent. Tippy top scools already have high average stats and you getting 50 points higher isn’t going to distinguish you from a kid on the waitlist who already has the same score. If you have something notable to update them with, such as an honor or achievement of some kind, do so. Sending a new score at this stage isn’t notable.
The admission office likely not even care if you submit more test scores. It has long passed any test score submission deadline. Even a full score would not make a difference at this point, however, other major achievement may.
