Waitlist success stories

anybody frm NEPAL heard abt their waitlist decision frm grinnell yet??

CMU priority waitlist, any chance to be accepted

jerushs, I can understand your doubt and won't take it personally but let me assure you that i have been admitted(I haven't got the time to waste on such foolish games especially on such a serious issue). Because of my location here in Africa, access to internet is a bit harder (unfortunately, I can't spend hours and hours a day drooling over the CC site). Plus I'm pretty new to this site anyway so I only setup an account to give hope to others. I tried to edit the spelling errors in my last post but it refused to go through. Anyway, I was just letting you all know that getting off the waitlist is a real possibility and can happen at any time all to your suprise. Compared to some of the other applicants who were rejected, I was equally amazed (hence the name, born to amaze). This was my first acceptance(rejected and waitlisted by the rest :-(...)! I can only advice those of you anxiously waiting for responses to not give up on hope and realise that although a handful of people may get off the waitlist, no one says that it can't be you. Good luck to you all and hopefully, we will all find ourselves where we want to be.

Ahhhhhh, let us know when you hear! I'm pulling for you!

i was waitlisted at seven schools... and i'm staying on the waitlist for grinnell, CMC, wesleyan, and carleton. anyone have some insight as to what my chances are for being accepted off one of those?

not sure, but my friend that got into wesleyan is going to vassar instead. so there's one down!

I turned down my offer at Vandy, so that's another opening. I'll be sticking with Cornell unless I hear back from Duke/Harvard.

Oblivion:

I'm giving up my spot at CMU.
Also, if anyone wants a spot at USC it's up too.

yeah, i am also turning down my place at Wesleyan. so good luck to your friend! and is there anyone who is accepted at MIT, but not going to attend?

Hey born.to.amaze. I could almost have written that post myself, except for the part about being from Africa & applying to Grinnell.

I'm Int'l too (Irish, 22), low SAT's (trust me, you don't want to know!), lots of ECs, all rejections and waitlists, need lots of FA. I'm waitlisted at Mount Holyoke at the moment, and I really want to get in there as they have a great film program that hooks up with another school.

Even if you are a troll, I doubt you are, but you gave me great hope which is what I need right now. It's getting harder to sleep at night! I wish you every happiness at G., and the very best of luck.

Regards, redsexton xxxx

There was a guy at my school who got off Emory's waitlist. So I guess there's still hope?

I'm giving up my spot at Northwestern so good luck to those who were waitlisted. Does anyone know the percentage of people Columbia takes off its waitlist? Because i heard they waitlist thousanads and take off like 10 -_- ?

The chances of getting off the waitlist at Columbia are very slim; I'm on it myself. Last year, they admitted 45 people, 19 for Engineering college.

mat811: Is the person you know a URM?/what state are you from?

D is going to Grinnell but two of her HS classmates declined Grinnell along with Trustee scholarships. Two more spots-and with money!

No, the guy I knew was an Asian from Oklahoma.

well...I doubt I will get in off Emory's wait list. They're trying to round out their class, but I'm an Asian from GA so that doesn't help

gkc4: where is GA are you from?

The Emory waitlist is active.
My friend from San Diego got into Emory today. But he's going to UCI on an almost full ride so he turned it down.

The Northwestern Waitlist is active too.
Two of my friends have gotten in last week. Both are attending.

are you serious about Northwestern!?!?!?!?

=O!
