does anyone know about Williams' yield?

penn has begun taking ppl off

what about BC

Pomona College's starting to take people off too. Like moi =p

i flew to wellesley which is like across the country, visited a class, visited the admissions office, had a meeting with professors, emailed them after my visit, sent in extra grades, called in, wrote two extra letters, and got extra recs. i dont know what else i can do! bahhhhh

I had given up on Cornell. I never called or emailed or anything, and I got a cell phone call today telling me that I was in. I am really confused about what to do though. I would like to get my finaid, but I don't want to give them a full commitment. Anyone have any suggestions?

llabesab, they're not letting you view a package first? Duke is sending me an acceptance letter and fin aid package before I decide.

They told me that they would need somewhat of a commitment before they worked out a finaid deal, and I don't want to tell them that I will probably come and not go because of finaid. Also, I'm just not sure yet. I love Duke, but the finaid is a huge factor. I may just have to ask them if they can give me a rough estimate or something. Idk

I wish cornell would send the acceptance and package before, but I guess they aren't. So far, all I have received is a phone call.

Joanne you can always cure cancer.

Also llabesab, they should be giving you an estimate first. Legally, you're not bound by anything, so tell them yes, you want to go, view the financial aid, and then decide whether or not you'll give up Duke.

Please tell me why on earth you would be willing to bend backwards for Cornell now after you committed to Duke. With all due respect to Cornell, Duke wins the majority of cross-admits against Cornell and is arguably the better school. It performs better where it matters, grad placement, recruitment, etc. I mean, you can't go wrong w. Cornell though. But why make such an effort to make a change now?

hmm. . if thats what it takes. . ill look into it

I have heard about lots of colleges taking people from their wait list...still waiting on UVA...anyone out there hear from UVA yet???

im off cornells waitlist too. i don't think they made me commit to anything. they just asked if i was still really interested in cornell.
but yea i am also very anxiously waiting for cornell's packet.

I am leaning towards Duke, but if Cornell offers me more money, idk. I just hate to do this when there are prob other kids on the waitlist who consider cornell their first choice or dream school.

^ you've worked your entire life for this moment. As cynical and unfortunate as this sounds, you do whats best for you and what you think can get you teh furthest in life.

Has anyone heard whether Barnard is taking people off the waitlist this year?

i got off the caltech waitlist!!!(that happened a week ago, but still..yay!!)
does anyone know by how much stanford was over enrolled this year?
what was their yield this year?

To Pris89 -this is rumor only, but a poster on the Barnard thread reported that "Someone on the facebook group got off the waitlist"
