Waitlist success stories

I know of people who got in off of waitlists just as they were leaving for other colleges (early-mid August, I guess?), so you never know when you'll find out.

Fingers are crossed for myself and everyone (though not so much if you're hoping for Barnard or Emory... :P)!

EFlo did you get into UNC from undergraduate first year waitlist or transfer? From what I heard UNC does not go into waitlist until after May 1 for undergraduate first year.

Thanks for bumping this guys!

So, it is possible to get an offer any time between next month and the start of term? Is anyone else starting to lose sleep yet?

i am really hopeful but probably will not get off the waitlist for pomona. they have spots for 400 and waitlist like half that D:

MoHo has 500 on their waiting list. They took about 5 off last year, apparently, and 30-something off the year before. I've no chance as I'm int'l, but would love to get in there more than anything.

What do you guys know about the Duke waitlist?

Hey, you can check out the previous posts on this thread for Duke waitlists, apparently ppl did get off last year.

Last year (or was it the year before?), Duke was quite an anomaly. They were dealing with the aftermath of the lacrosse team situation, of which their handling drove off quite a few accepted students. So they had to go to their waitlist quite extensively, and started doing so before May 1st.

hoping to getting off MIT's waiting list.............

fingers crossed

Yesterday D2 made her final decision on where she will be attending in the fall...all her "will not attend" cards are now in the mail. Hopefully, it will free up spots on the waitlist...good luck!

has anyone got off waitlist from Columbia?
I havent received any single letter or email from Columbia, are they going into W.L at all this year? I am dying!!!Ghrrrrr....

WashU ahhhh.........

Hah, I'm also on the waitlist for Columbia, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. They've always picked a ridiculously small amount off their waitlists (unless you're SEAS). I believe they took around 20....from 1500 for the college. They probably waitlisted more in anticipation of taking more this year, but eh. I'll still try though :)

I doubt Columbia will go to the waitlist before May 1st. Sit back and relax for a few weeks. : )

I was just wondering, has anyone gotten off or has anyone even heard ofanyone who got off the waitlist from NYU last year?

I don't think NYU's a big waitlist school, but with this year, you never know. I'm attempting to persuade all my friends who got into Emory to accept spots elsewhere. :)

I am offering my spots at Wesleyan and Colgate to dear waitlistees, and I wish someone does same for me at MIT!!! Please!!!

When do colleges go into their waitlists usually?

bartlet, I just declined Emory!

Well, only about 3 weeks to go.
