haha i'm doing the same thing for northwestern

pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee let me get off

Im waitlisted at university of san francisco....
anyone know anything about that?
i didnt think it was too ahrd to get into but noww.. i dont know. it was my first choice skool! so its either this or jc :(

does anyone know anyone thats been/on their waitlist?

THANKS

Okay, everyone-- I've sent a pretty unique letter of interest, new recommendations, and writing samples. What else can be done?! I don't want to go overboard but I want to do everything I can to get in.

Scratch what I said before- I know someone who claimed to get off the NYU (Tisch) waitlist last year, but it could've just been that he was full of crap.

I don't think there is anything as excruciatingly agonizing in the college admissions process as the waitlist.

My S has made his decision and will be turning down WashU and Duke (both mentioned here) so I hope that means good news for ahhhhhhh and TAdd.

I'm on the waitlist for Harvard. But I haven't done anything about it. It wasn't my top choice to begin with but would it be too late to do something now?

madbean, where is your son going? i'm on washu's waitlist i was just curious.

TAdd, you are so right. i hate waitlists - i'm on penn, brown, and washu waitlists. it's not fun agonizing over all of this.

Harvard and Duke here. Gotta be realistic about Harvard...I think I've got a snowball's chance in hell.

Duke is something I'm really really hoping for though. Best of luck to you, trackie, and all of the rest of you guys toughing it out.

trackie, my son is going to USC (Southern Cal)! Best of luck to you and all the waitlistees.

thanks, madbean. he'll have fun with that cali warmth!

lol im bumping this thread yet again. If anyone has gotten off of a school's waitlist or has even heard of anyone getting off, please post that story here, all of us would really like to hear it :)

I got rejected from Clemson, UGA, and Air Force Academy and waitlisted at Georgia Tech (which was probably the school I wanted to go most). Didn't even apply to a safety. Couple days ago I received an e-mail from Tech asking if I wanted to get off the waitlist by doing Summer Session :)

I was waitlisted at Grinnell and am doing my best to get off...My dad (who is an alumnus) received a courtesy call from the interim head of admissions who informed him of my being waitlisted, but said I am "high priority" or something. I've since been emailing with the interim head, have sent in a new essay/letter that speaks to why I want to attend, and a list of new accomplishments and activities since my application was mailed. I'm also not in need of financial aid...

Do you think I can get off the waitlist??? I really hope I can...If not, then I will be at Lewis & Clark next year (which I love, but I love Grinnell even more..)

Hi...im an international student who was waitlisted at Grinnell..Didnt i get the shock of my life when a few days ago, i received a phone call letting me know that i had succeed in getting off the list for the class of 2012...to top it all off, i got a full scholarship(my parents are smiling ear-to-ear)...a true miracle...compared to others, my SAT 1 & 2 scores are amazingly lower(barely above average). my school doesnt have the GPA system but compared to my class, im ranked pretty highly. I believe I had a wide range of ECs, notable leadership roles, mission statement type essays and probably strong recommendations..but the response from Grinnell still stuns me. I did send a convincing essay as to why they should accept me but i doubted it would be worth much before may 1st. how i did it? still stunned...goes to show that miracles(or if there is something more drastic) can happen... now i wanna find out whether Johns Hopkins intends to pull a similar stunt.... Good luck to you all...

"your work ethic and ability are not the only determinants in life...but so too your intention"

I'm waitlisted at MIT, Cornell, Columbia and Harvey Mudd. I would give up my spot on the other Waitlists if it meant I could go to MIT :(

Thanks for the news born.to.amaze.

And so, it begins...

Can someone please tell me if we have regional officers for international students? I'm on FIVE waitlists and am trying desperately to will myself off!

Congratulations to you both, OniLawliet and born.to.amaze. You were really born to amaze!!!

I was actually rejected at Grinnell, and have just received rejection letter. I live too far away from Grinnell!!!

i will bet $100 of monopoly money that born.to.amaze is a troll. read his post carefully. twice.
