Waitlist Wiki - Info, Questions, Stories

Congrats to those hearing from WL schools. Has anyone heard anything about movement for UCLA MT? Thanks!

I just posted on another thread regarding Ithaca waitlist. I talked to them today. They wait until May 1st to see what deposits come in and if there is room contact waitlist AFTER May 1st, probably later that week by phone call.

My daughter received an email today from Utah letting her know that she was offered a spot off of the wait list. She is going another route and won’t be accepting, but those of you who are waiting - be patient!

Our D was also given a spot off a the Utah WL today. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Looks like UCLA released some waitlisted spots to OOS today.

@lithpool and @2artskidz – thank you! She committed to Ohio today. Very excited. She was already admitted at another school, which we toured last week, and was trying to psych herself into wanting to go there. But the Ohio decision really crystallized things. This is the program she wants.

I did speak to Syracuse this morning and was told that their wait list will NOT move until after May 1 and that they will be filling spots until probably June. I don’t think it’ll change my kid’s decision at this point. However, I’d like her to hold on to her spot and consider going there if that option emerges.

Thank you @Rose2023 - seems like they are from the school of arts and sciences and engineering. Not sure if anyone from UCLA MT has heard anything.

@MTthreats my kiddo is also in at Ohio. We have a parents group started. Message me fir details if you are interested.

Has anyone heard from Indiana MT WL?

It’s May 2nd now, and wondering if anybody has heard any movement today from their waitlisted schools?

@3Blessings - my son received an email from Ithaca offering a place in BFA Acting program. He was waitlisted for BFA MT

My D withdrew herself from her waitlist schools when she committed. As she explained, she liked her program better than the two waitlist schools and figured she would free up a potential slot for another WL student that may not be thrilled with their current option. I’m glad that we don’t have to think about the WL’s any more and hope that anybody waiting for that dream program gets the news they want!

My D removed herself from the Roosevelt waitlist.

It’s interesting. I thought these boards would be a buzz with movement and announcements by now.

@32barMom Is your S considering the Ithaca offer? (I have no skin in the game, just curious)

@NewToThis13 I heard that several schools haven’t had to go to their waitlist for the first time. Not sure if more accepted than normal or what is different this year. I too thought we would be hearing about a little more waitlist movement.

@2artskidz - if it had been MT he would have considered the Ithaca offer but no since it is acting, he is not considering

D just got notice yesterday of acceptance at Wisc Stevens Point Acting but she had already removed herself from waitlist. Movement still happening I guess.

D was released from BoCo waitlist. Sigh… Everything happens for a reason and so happy she has a place to go!

@3Blessings I agree! We made a non-refundable housing deposit last night and are at the “love where you land” stage.

My D also got an offer this past Sunday from UWSP. She is sticking with where she committed earlier though.

Seems like most people are turning down these post-May 1 offers from waitlists from what I can see. Wish we could get data from schools about how many they offered, percent that accept, how many from waitlist. The analyst in me would love to dig into that.
