Waitlist

How many people were waitlisted this year?

I was waitlisted too! What do you think are the chances of us getting off the waitlist?!

Shameless bump in the hopes of hearing waitlist chances from anyone.
Or if anyone knows past waitlist statistics maybe?

Also waitlisted! I’m not getting my hopes up though. I have no idea what the chances are of getting off the wait list, but I’m guessing they’re pretty small…

I am waitlisted too! Washigton University in St.Louis

Waitlisted…

A lot of people got waitlisted this year in general, I heard. No source though.

In recent years approximately 1-3% have gotten off the waitlist. It is usually about 1200-1500 and anywhere from a handful to about 50 get in. Those are pretty dismal statistics.

Heh

UChicago FTW

Hence, thanks for playing. Alright, glad to know. Time to move on I guess…

And I assume the stats are similar for SEAS too?

~Sigh.

Someone help me out with the math here please? Columbia accepts 6.9% from 34500, so roughly 2250 admitted. I read that the yield rate for last year is 59% which gives a total of 1327 to fill a class of 1800?

tomyo, about a third of the class is accepted ED and the yield there is almost 100%. 59% yield is only for RD applicants.

Waitlisted also… I expected a yes or a no. Not a “Yeah, but…”. So I don’t know how to feel about it, especially when I know the chances of me getting off said waitlist are abysmal.

Then again, how many people applied to Columbia simply because it was convenient, with little to no intent of actually enrolling if admitted? That might be to our benefit, yes?

So Columbia must be expecting a lot less yield? They accepted 2419 students this year and if the yield stayed there will be 1427 students plus 650ish more??? Together of over 2000???
