Waitlist?

We have happily moved on :)

Still on the waitlist. 28 ACT, 1 AP. IDK I guess I’ve moved on, but I’d still definitely consider it if accepted…

Waitlisted applicants should not give up hope. D received call yesterday offering admission. It’s a no go for her (too excited about school she chose to attend), but for others who have Villanova as top choice hang in there.

Sj1217: where is your daughter going to school this fall?

GW - Political Science major who loves DC. Seems like a good fit.

Sj1217: it is a good fit for your daughter. And that is what’s important. Good luck!

Wow! That is the latest I’ve heard of a wait list acceptance. I was accepted to 4 schools: union, Lehigh, Lafayette and villanova all before June 1st

Queen’s Wreath - Thank you. I agree that fit is very important. The challenge as a parent is not imposing “my fit” into her decision making. This one was a little difficult in that I do have a soft spot for Catholic colleges and universities. I saw your post on a different topic. Call school and ask if they will guarantee some or all of the award for four years. Many schools will for top students which your daughter seems to be. Best of luck.

Sj1217: Thank you. Well, what can I say…like what happened to you, this has been and still is really tough to handle…having your daughter be accepted at a very prestigious institution, one many students die to get into, and not be able to afford to send her there…very difficult indeed. I don’t have a problem with her going to Villanova. I think that it’s an excellent school and very similar to the one we would have wanted her to attend. My only problem is letting go of the other one and having to always explain why we didn’t send her there. It’s tough you know seeing people reactions. And it’s also tough having to explain why Villanova out of ALL of the other schools that she also got accepted to. You know this is all very personal and people have a way to get to you…some more than others…particularly competitive, rich parents who can afford to send their kids to whatever school they want to go to as long as they get accepted. They make you feel like you are not a good parent because you are not willing to make sacrifices…you didn’t then, are not doing so now nor will in the future according to them. I am a bad parent (?) And then to think that we may have a situation in which our financial aid award could decrease as the years go by? Not good at all.

To those still on the waitlist: myNOVA says we will be notified of our official decision on June 30 (TODAY), but my myNOVA has not been updated, I have not received any email, and I have not been contacted by the school (Obviously I know its a Sunday, thats why I was skeptical about the June 30 date in the first place). Have any of you heard anything?

Just said “yes” to the Summer Wait List. I’m not going to change schools as this point, but I still would like a final decision, you know?

Termah420-How were you notified (if at all) about the summer waitlist?

On my myNOVA account, on the left side, where I was originally asked if I wanted to be placed on the “Active Wait List”, it changed the question to “Summer Wait List”, and then I got a letter in the mail about a week later.

My daughter got off the waitlist for Nova on 6/12. She accepted it and was ready to go until she got an email from NYU on 7/27. After a week of back and forth, she has decided to go to NYU. She will notify Nova today and hopefully someone will get a call soon. Don’t lose hope, things can still happen.

Thanks, nhkh2013.

For those on the Summer Wait List, weren’t we supposed to have a final answer by 8/15? I haven’t heard anything… (whether good or bad)
