Waitlist

so, I've been waitlisted @ middlebury, and was wondering what the timeframe is for getting a response back... I heard that the earliest I'd hear would be relatively recently, yet it could be as late as june? did I hear that correctly?

-reyk

Someone on this board already has been offered a place off the wait list, so they're making calls as we speak...

really.. I was hoping to send some additional material even now..hope they have a look at it..~

I heard that Midd is making offers.... to guys. Seems the school wants to keep its genders balanced.

a girl in my school got accepted off the waitlist a week ago

same...one of my friends (a girl) was accepted on the 5th off the waitlist

one more spot available----off the waitlist elsewhere (hard choice) and am giving upmy deposit at MIddlebury and my spot (as of last Friday)

do they call? or send a letter? and if you don't get in off the waiting list, do they ever tell you?

they usually call first. and yes, you will get a letter in the mail when the class is full (but, because of "summer melt," that probably won't happen for a while)...

My daughter's college counselor called Middlebury on Monday the 15th and was told that they would only be taking males off of the list from this point on. Caveat emptor for anyone applying next year: apply ED if this is where you want to go!!

anyone know whether they are still accepting students off the waitlist ?

Sigh...it's kind of disappointing how colleges have a tendancy of valuing the males more than the females because they want the ratio to be balanced. Good luck people!

It's not that they value males more than females...what a stupid comment. You would feel differently if they had more male acceptances and just kept accepting more males. The colleges just want their schools to have a reasonable balance in EVERY way, that is public/private, racial, economic, etc. I would have loved to go to Midd. I didn't even get waitlisted.
