I was accepted EA by Fordham, but due to money will probably not be going. Several people from my school were waitlisted, and I know they all really wanted to go there, more so than I. If I decline to enroll now, will they have a better chance of being admitted off the waitlist?

I was accepted normal, and im torn because i might not be able to make it because of the money. However if its a place you truly wish to be (like i do), you should look into maybe some loan programs etc...

Natalie, where else did you get in? And if your lack of interest in Fordham is solely based on the financial picture, then contact Admissions and explain your situation and see if they can help you. But for CERTAIN make sure you attend the newly admitted student orientation on April 12/13 (LC/Rose Hill) and see THEN what you think. Deciding now or on May 1 wont make any difference on who gets in off the wait list. Most colleges have a ranking sort of for wait lists anyway. Your friends who REALLY want to go to Fordham need to express that to Fordham in writing IMMEDIATELY and perhaps embellish their applications with more recommendations from teachers and highlighting issues that colleges look for: maturity, creativity, student involvement, etc.

Good luck to all.

Natatlie, that is very sweet of you, but I am pretty sure the waitlist letter states that they have offered waitlist to approximately 4,000 and last year they took approx. 100 off the waitlist. You never know who will get picked, but the odds seem slim.
