I’m so sad to be on the waitlist…Brandeis is my first choice school and I really want to go. Does anyone know what I should do? Is there anyone here that was admitted off the waitlist last year that can share what they did that got them in the “Deis”? Thanks.

Oh, and here are my stats if anyone is interested:

SAT: 650V 780M
SAT IIs: 800, 760, 740
GPA: 3.4 uw, 3.7 w (I know, its a little on the low side, but my course load has been mostly honors and APs…)
unranked
many ECs…founder and pres of school debate club, treasurer of student council, vice pres of school’s chapter of Adopt A Minefield, played violin for 11 years and part of elite community youth orchestra (along with school orchestra), concertmaster of orchestra pit for school musicals, national honor society, varsity golf team (and worked at a golf training center for past two summers as a senior counselor for children’s golf program)

Did you send letters saying that you want to go? Update them with any new information (awards, activities, honors, etc)? Contact admissions? If not, you better get started...don't just sit there, do something! lol
Good luck and I hope I see you in the fall!

i think the main thing is to show continued interest. Write. Call. Revisit. Make them know your name, so they notice it when they scroll down the list of waitlistees.

Thanks stain99 and aldeya....I have already sent in my desire to remain on the waiting list and wrote a letter expressing my deep interest in the school. I explained how if I were admitted off the waitlist, I would go there without a doubt. I've already sent up a couple of articles about me updating the school on recent achievements, and I'm having another rec sent. I was actually planning on visiting the school on 13th as well before I found out that it was the admitted students day. Do you think I would still be welcome to visit on the 13th anyway? Thanks again for your replies.

I don't know if you can visit on the 13th....try the 15th.
My advice? Keep on badgering them and doing what you're doing. If you really want to go, this is not a time to be shy.
