So, does anyone know what the chances of acceptance are for those applicants (such as myself) who were waitlisted at Brandeis? Like, is there a certain percentage they’ve kept up every year or something? I’m just curious because since Brandeis is one of the top schools I applied to, I would like to know if I’ve still got a shot of getting in. Does the response we’re supposed to send back to them on why Brandeis remains high on our list of potential colleges have a big effect, if any at all, on whether or not we’ll be accepted? If anyone could give me some insight into this, that would be great. Thanks!

I got waitlisted as well…the date for returning the form is conveniently May 1st, so I’m going to wait for filling it out until I hear from all my colleges, and I suggest many others do the same unless you’re positive you want to stay on the waitlist.

I’m not sure of the exact numbers of how many people they accept off of the waitlist, but I think it really depends on how many admits decide to go to Brandeis - so they could take only a few off of the list or a hundred…so I think that statistic would be not be available. I could be wrong however. :)

section C2 of common data set gives wait list stats. you can go back and look at the last few years to see how many they’ve tended to accept – just realize that this is no guarantee as to what they are likely to do in any given year.
by definition, schools don’t generally look at their wait list until they see how their yield for their regular admissions went – so realize that means you are unlikely to hear until after may 1, meaning you will most likely have to plan accordingly based on the acceptances you get.

You were waitlisted ED? I didn’t know that happened.

I applied RD, not ED.

Was it a priority application? I didn’t think RD decisions came out until April.

@ Key - yeah, this was priority decision…at least for me

I have no idea what makes an application defined as priority. I don’t even know what a priority application is. Could someone please explain?

Brandeis, as do other schools, sent out “invitations to apply” (aka “priority” applications). Some schools call them VIP applications. You submit your app RD and received a quicker response. The response for RD apps, per Brandeis’ website, is April 1, so I am thinking yours was a priority app as those people all heard last week.

Ah waitlisted here as well. Quite upsetting but at least I still have a chance. Wonder if there is anything I could do at this point to boost my chances. Probably not but whatever.

Hey, at least we weren’t rejected, right? hahaha

i got waitlisted as well
does anybody know what the chances are of getting accepted with aid?
