didn't know this could happen. is this better than a rejection/transfer offer? i don't even understand because i've never seen someone waitlisted at ILR on these boards

Cornell hasn’t ever resorted to using the waitlist for several years.
It’s pretty much being rejected.

What are your stats if you don’t mind sharing? I’m applying to ILR as a transfer this year and I’m really worried…

2220 on SATs. can someone please post here who waitlisted to ILR specifically so I know I’m not alone

I am waitlisted to hotel school…

it’s weird how waitlisting at cornell is worse than GT option, but it’s true…

I’m waitlisted at the hotel school as well

to Cornell, is a wait list better than a rejection/GTO? to me, i know a GTO, realistically, is better because Cornell rarely resorts to the wait list.

In reality, they’re about equivalent because most people never transfer. Many people fall in love with their college and decide to stay permanently.

Do you have any stats to prove that? Because I know me, and I will most definately transfer.

If you applied to ILR, you shouldn’t worry either way if you’ve been waitlisted (I’ve been waitlisted). I contacted their admissions and they said that if we don’t get in off the waitlist this year, we have a GT for next year, as long as we maintain a min gpa of 3.3 with no grade lower than a B, along with some required core classes. Not every school at Cornell does it, but lucky for us, ILR does.
