Well said again, PABound!

well dude there is 50% range they have…

Some schools do practice yield management (aka “Tufts Syndrome,” also seen in recent years at places like WUSTL and Skidmore), but Lehigh isn’t one of them – at least, not in the way you think. Lehigh does it BEFORE acceptances by using demonstrated interest. Especially because competition has gotten incredibly stiff at the most elite schools, Lehigh is poised to pick up those who just missed at them. If Lehigh didn’t accept those with stats “too good” for Lehigh, it wouldn’t have a chance at those students. Instead, it tries to gauge applicants who seem to love the school AND who have great stats. Because admissions gets so many applications, however, lots of those students still have to be denied or waitlisted. The freshman class is limited by size, not stats.

Keep in mind that admissions must also craft a diverse class. They can’t admit a disproportionate number of engineers that lock out potential majors in the College of Arts and Sciences. And within the colleges, they also need variety – of interests, backgrounds, majors, leadership potential, etc. It’s not as cut-and-dry as you may think.

yeah i know that but if ur way over, then you probably will be accepted, but maybe u need more of a challenge… and don’t worry if u don’t get accepted, with that gpa, others colleges will accept you…lol i wish i had that good stats…lehigh is my reach…

Ok I had a question: since the people on the waitlisted were not taken off, does that give us greater consideration next year should we choose to apply as a transfer?
