Hi guys! I am looking for some students who have been waitlisted in the past or are currently waitlisted to University of Washington Seattle. I would really appreciate some insight into what to expect. Here’s a little about me:
I am currently a running start student and will have my AA in June
I got an 1150 on the new SAT, not great but not bad either
My overall GPA in college and high school is a 3.85
I have stayed pretty involved in some volunteer work as well as individual studies on my major (Anthropology)
If anyone has gotten off the waitlist could you tell me if I am a good candidate or not? Or is there anything I can do to help my chances of getting accepted off the waitlist?
I wanted to make this thread to get some discussion going among other waitlisters as well. It is my lifelong dream to go to UW, but I know I am not the only one. Finding someone else who is going through a similar thing right now could be helpful in these next stressful months. I look forward to hearing from all of you!
Hey, everyone, I was waitlisted as well.
I am an out of state female looking to major in civil engineering
I was in 4 AP classes,1 IB course as well as 9 honors classes and had an unweighted GPA of about 3.8
I got 1390 on the new SAT and was in a special nationally recognized STEM magnet school
I was on my school’s varsity volleyball team ad won and international title as well as was a national competitor for FBLA
How are my chances of being accepted off the waitlist?
I am in an almost identical situation. I will be receiving my AA in June and UW was the only school I wanted to go to and now I’ve been waitlisted. My only weekness is extra curricular activities and I was almost sure I was going to get in. I understand how stressful this is and now I’m just waiting to receive that email.
Yes - it is supposed to come out today, but I don’t see anyone saying that they have heard anything yet. Does anyone know anyone that has heard something?
I haven’t seen anyone posting that they have heard anything about the wait list. When I called last week they told me that they would be mailing letters to those that were being offered a spot off the wait list. A few people have said that, no, they will be sending emails and not letters. I am so confused. I’m beginning to think that they will be mailing the letters as some people would have received an email by now. Anyone have any different information?
@huskiehopeful24 that’s kind of what I have been thinking. I haven’t heard of anyone who has received and email or letter which is really frustrating. I’m stressed every time I look at my inbox now and I wish they would just let us know so I can figure out my next step. Anyone done any research into how many will get off the wait list? I heard that it might only be like 145? has anyone found similar information ?
I know the number seems to vary greatly from year to year. When I called the office to see if they could give me any indication as to the number it would be, they wouldn’t provide even an estimate. And yes- I am stressed every time I check my Inbox, too! Wish we could all just know once and for all. Hang in there everyone!
Thank you @huskiehopeful24 ! Does anyone know if they have made all the wait list decisions yet? I’m wondering what they are waiting for (pun intended). It seems like if they made all the decisions they would just send them all at once, right?
I hate you guys for giving me unnecessary anxiety. But I just called the admission office and… ALL DECISIONS WILL BE SENT TO YOUR EMAIL (EVEN IF YOU’VE BEEN ACCEPTED OR NOT). The office HAVE NOT made ANY decisions yet.
I wasn’t waitlisted but my stats were,
SAT: 1600ish in old version
ACT: 24
3.3-3.4 GPA
60 hrs of community service
AP Chem, AP Calc, Biol 100 in my senior year
