waitlisted Choate, Hotchkiss. Now what?

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I am an international student and waitlisted for choate and hotchkiss. I don't think chances are good I will get off these waitlists. I really want to study in the US this September, so I need to do late applications for other schools. Can anyone recommend some schools I can apply to in California or New England I will have a better chance of getting accepted? My SSAT was 2040, math 99, but English a lot lower.
Hope someone can give me some advice??

[Search Boarding Schools](<a href=“Boarding School Search Results”>Boarding School Search Results)

^ schools with rolling admissions.
out of that list, i’d reccomend berkshire, cambridge school of weston (csw), cheshire, cushing, gunnery, lawrence, masters, northfield mount hermon (NMH), peddie (but they’re ultra-competitive), st andrews, proctor, and williston northampton. they’re good schools and you should look into them, narrow them down, etc. if you need financial aid, i’d recommend applying next fall, because late international FA is pretty hard to get.

note, most of these schools are not/nowhere near the level of choate/hotchkiss (with a few exceptions, like peddie). if you’re looking to get into a top tier school, i’d wait until next fall and get your SSAT up.

I really liked Governor’s Academy. Eventually my daughter chose a different school, but they are very nice, the campus is pretty and they have resources to help international students with language.

I’d add Loomis and The Hill to the list above, and any lower tier school. If you are a full pay applicant, you have good chance at many schools. Don’t worry :)

do the schools w rolling admissions require on-campus interview as well? My friend from Korea wants to apply, and they prefer phone interview.

i think that for most schools, if you’re international, they’re not REQUIRED, but preferred… each school has different policies, though, so i’d check individually

i got into 5 school and i never did one single visit…

Answerbag, your replies are very contradicting and misleading. In another thread you stated that you had done plenty of phone interviews as well as campus visits.

Yeah ignore this “answerbag”.

But I heard that a GLADCHEMMS school admitted kids from my country without doing interviews. Ummm that’s rare.
