Waitlisted to BU and Brandeis

So I was recently waitlisted to BU and Brandeis. BU said I was placed on a short, unranked waiting list for the CAS. Brandeis also said that I was placed on an unranked waiting list, and that in previous years they have accepted students before May 1. How many students are usually accepted off of these schools wait lists and does signing up to be on them right away (like how I did) give students an advantage?
I’m really starting to doubt myself about the other upcoming college decisions. I also applied to Lehigh, Bucknell, NYU, Emory, W&M, and CMU. Does anyone think I have a realistic chance at any of these schools? I got a 2000 on my SATs, i’m in the second decile, and i received one D my sophomore year (which I think really hurt my application). I’d be happy if I just got into one of these schools.

What is your safety?

And what is your GPA?

my UW is a 91 and my weighted is a 96. I have already been accepted to Rutgers

BU and Brandeis were reaches in the first place. There’s no definite statistic behind these things so the probability of you getting accepted off the waitlist is unknown.

A 91 is 3.6. Probably not for CMU. Did you apply RD to all? What is your major? Do you have any hooks?

I applied for bio. I’ve been heavily involved with the music program at my school, I’m in the nhs and shs, I’ve interned with an environmental organization, and I’m in my schools math league. But idk if there’s anything amazing that makes me stand out. And I applied rd to all of these schools lol oops

Well your a good student but the early bird… So what I would do is show enormous interest to BU. There will be many who cannot afford the school. Hopefully you can? Maybe write an appeals letter.

Thank you for this opportunity to be further considered… BU is my top choice… I would enroll if admitted… I would be an asset because

ok thanks for the advice
