<p>I got an 'alternate list' letter from rochester and it says I MAY be admitted for the SPRING term so I was wondering if I should wait for rochester to maybe admit me or just go to Rutgers. I live in New Jersey and am a lot of financial aid from Rutgers. I was thinking of going into engineering but I'm not sure if I'll stick with it. I'm not sure what to do.... I know Rutgers has a okay engineering program but will it give me a better start with my career than I would get with my situation with Rochester?</p>
<p>You need to ask U of Rochester what conditional admission for the spring means. Find out if it is OK for you to start somewhere else in the fall. Find out what the financial aid situation is likely to be if you are eventually admitted at U of Rochester.</p>
<p>Rutgers is a perfectly find institution, and it looks to be affordable for you. It is OK to say “Thanks, but no thanks” to U of Rochester, and just get on with your life.</p>
