Waitlisted! What do I do?

I got waitlisted, and I am quite thankful that I qualified for this considering all the results I got today.

What should I do to get a nice acceptance? I will appreciate all advice.

Congrats to those of you who got accepted.

Oh, and how do I tell them that want to be an "active candidate"?
Do I have to send them something back?

Thanks!

Oh, and is it good to hope to get accepted when youre waitlisted?

As a fellow waitlistee... good to hope... unlikely to happen
Harvard has the highest yield % in the country, meaning it will probably take very few students off that waitlist, of which there are hundreds on there

I was waitlisted too during my senior year. Honestly, don't count on it but obviously continue to show interest. Don't over do it though.

^What do you mean, don't overdo it?

phone calls everyday... send in baked goods..

no baked goods? Ahh nuts.

throws out giant cake in the shape of a H

If it helps, I have actually met a person who got into Harvard off the waitlist, so there was at least one!!! Unfortunately for him he had already confirmed at Brown :-</p>

2o_07 - perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought that you could confirm at another university, accept wait lists, and if things work out, simply pull out of the other university (at the cost of your deposit) and enter your waitlisted univeristy

yeah sdong, thats what i heard as well

^ thats the whole purpose of a waitlist

the guy probably changed his mind and decided to go to Brown.
