Waitlisted: what to do now?

<p>As the title states, I got waitlisted. Would sending in an additional recommendation letter (which will provide new information about me that wasn't included in my Harvard apps) and a letter about updates (e.g. awards) be helpful at all in getting accepted from the waitlist? </p>

<p>Or is getting off the waitlist based on factors beyond my control?</p>
