If I've been waitlisted, do I put down the deposit for my safety school, and if they let me in then put down the deposit for NE and lose my first deposit? I kind of just need someone to explain the whole waitlist process for me. Also, what are the odds of getting off the waitlist?

Basically, you have to commit to one school then lose the money from the deposit if you end up getting in. Odds usually aren’t terribly high, but it’s worth a shot. It’s not like you have to do anything just wait and see. And I just declined my admittance so there’s at least one spot open!

My son was wait listed and he sent a response that it was his first choice. He also mentioned that he was accepted everywhere else and got excellent financial aid packages. He was offered a spot and we had to forfeit the deposit elsewhere but he has never looked back. He loves it!

Did your son write a continued letter of interest? What did he say? Did he contact the dean?

yes he did write an email of interest. He tried to contact the dean but to no avail. He went on another tour and tried to get ahold of people but no one available.

Is that all he did–writing a letter of interest?
