wow ....nyu is cheaper than gwu....hell yea. def. NYU > GWU

did anyone who was waitlisted receive the university day reception invitation? or does that mean you already got accepted?

ryan- im a total EFC issue, and i got in. (cost of tuition is way more than my family makes)

jbg-sorry to say, but i've heard only immediate family members can have influence as legacies. don't let me discourage you from trying! you can beat this waitlist thing.

keep your options open is the best advice i can give you. deal with the idea that NYU might not be one of your acceptances (just in case!), and look to your second or third choice schools more closely. at least this way if NYU does fall through (i really hope it doesnt) youre prepared.

Can we (should be) submit supplementary materials? An extra rec letter, what we've been up to since we applied? The letter didn't mention doing it or not.

i dont see how it could hurt. maybe it might be better to think of it like a job application? maybe they like to see initiative? i dunno, i could be completlely wrong.

I was waitlisted to Stern. One way i anticipated denial of admission was because I didnt receive an invite for the University Day while others who have were eventually accepted to NYU. Also, there weren't any financial aid award letters available to track for Columbia, and I was eventually rejected. Crappy way to find out.

When is the deadline for signing up for the waitlist?

Cuz I had to call in to find out, so I'm not exactly sure how to sign up. I know it's online, so I'm thinking there's information in that letter that I need haha.

Kaitlyn: For physics, I'd say CMU - I don't think physics here is as strong as the bio and chem departments. For others, it depends. What others are you thinking about?

(Why are you asking this on a waitlist topic?)

I'm not in the appropriate forum...but it's now cooper union vs. carnegie mellon for physics or engineering. any suggestions now? :-/

wow cooper union, thats really impressive. Why not go there?

I think i will, im so excited :-D

wow cooper union.

to not accept their offer i think would be one of the craziest mistakes hahaha.

one of our art students got into their art program.
60 students in teh whole world!! it's so crazy!

i would totally go hahaha if i were accepted there.

Does anyone know where to send supplemental materials for waitlist? The same place we sent all our other stuff?

What e-mail address should i use in order to ask questions abt the waitlist?

i think we send it to where we sent it before.

also, does anyone know how many people NYU normally admits from the waitlist to Stern?? So many people from my school aren't attending because of the bad financial aid and are going to UT McCombs instead, since I'm in TX... so it's giving me the impression that financial aid is having a heavy effect on whether or not ppl are attending NYU or nottt..

anyone know how many ppl they accept on average?
