I applied to my state university at the beginning of my senior year and I was accepted immediately. I was offered 3 scholarships to this school and my tuition is basically paid for from those, and I will also be using my dads Gi Bill to pay for my schooling and my living expenses. Half way through my senior year, around spring break, my dad told me I could apply to one school any where in the U.S that I really want to go to since I have the GI BILL to pay for it, he didn’t want to limit me just because he wanted me close to home, so I quickly applied to CU Boulder my dream school, but I applied after the application deadline by more than a month, and I quickly received notification that I was waitlisted. Now that I know I have the opportunity to go there my mind is dead set on it and I am more than devastated about being waitlisted. What can I do to fix that? Is there a way to be accepted into the school after you’ve been waitlisted? I’ll do whatever it takes, and I have my parents support to do so.
If you’re dead set on going to CU, tell admissions that! Getting off of any school’s waitlist can be as simple as demonstrating interest and passion. There’s something called a Letter of Continued Interest, look that up and send it. Email your admissions rep, call them, etc. Don’t be afraid to be a pain (…but be professional, and not desperate).
my mom contacted the CU admissions office and they stated that there was less than 1% chance that students on the waitlist would be taken off.
It may depend on many factors. I know kids who got off the wait list. Don’t give up yet!
I GOT ACCEPTED YAY!
Hi! I’m thinking about applying to Boulder and I was wondering what kind of GPA did you have to get in? If it’s too personal than I totally understand.
