Waitlisted at University of Colorado at Boulder

I've been wait listed at Colorado and if I'm lucky enough to get in, its where I'll be going next year. I emailed an admissions counselor prior to getting waitlisted and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I could do to improve my chances of getting in.

also does anyone know how often colorado wait list kids and how many typically get in off the wait list?

Move to Colorado and work for a year, get residency. Then if your scores are high, automatic admission.

There’s no better guarantee than that.

Other than a >$5 million dollar donation.

Write a letter of continued interest to CU telling them why you are a good fit for the school and what awards/honors/ECs you’ve earned or done sicne submitting your app. I don’t know the stats on CU’s waitlist, but I’m sure they’ll probably go to it, since CU doesn’t have the super high yield rates that HYP have. Just my opinion, though. Maybe someone else has the exact stats.

[CU-Boulder Common Data Set 2009-10](http://www.colorado.edu/pba/cds/cds10/index.htm)

For fall 2009 admissions:

Number of qualified applicants placed on waiting list: 926

Number accepting a place on the waiting list: 281

Number of wait-listed students admitted: 81

well I deferred my acceptance so I hope that helps you! And the chancellor’s scholarship, too. I hope you get it!

The waitlist statistics look like they favor you greatly :).

Be grateful, at a lot of other schools less than 10% get off the waitlist. Sometimes none.
