Who else got waitlisted?

Hehe, I got waitlisted too! We can both agonize in this moment together.

Are you going to choose to remain on the waitlist? The chances seem pretty slim, according to their stats ("Over the past four years, we have admitted 93, 1, 45, and 10 students respectively").

me three!! but we weren't REJECTED
yeah, the numbers they gave didn't reassure me much.. but i'm staying in.

maybe i can try to convince the adcom that i'm native american or something, haha

do you think this means anything regarding our chances of getting into other 7 sisters? wellesley's the hardest to get into right?

Barnard is the hardest to get into, but Wellesley is the most competitive, as I understand it...

My D was also waitlisted. She would prefer Barnard. What do you mean by "Barnard is the hardest to get into, but Wellesley is the most competitve..." Do you just mean that Barnard has more applications, so the percentage is lower? I suspect that the applicants are stronger at Wellesley.

What does the waitlisted say? >/ So next time I know. =] I hope you both get in! =]

abric1, I think that that is probably what mtholyoke2010 means. The NYC location makes Barnard super attractive, but I believe that the general consensus is that Wellesley is the still the pinnacle women's college. Not that a Barnard education isn't great!! But, though I am reluctant to say it because no, rankings aren't everything, I think that the fact that Wellesley outranks Barnard by nearly 20 spots on the LAC list probably is indicative of something.

You guys, you must feel so down right now! But still, don't give up you know...if Wellesley is your top school, try all you can do to show your interest and pursue that spot for the class of 2011. I really hope all of you can get off the waiting list and have smiles on your faces!! Have hope! Don't let this ruin days that could have been happy.

ME also!
I'm staying on the waiting list. I doubt I'll take Wellesley if they accept me later on, but I'm actually relieved that I wasn't outright rejected.

Ha ha unlike me! xD Is anyone else rejected besides me? =]

i was waitlisted too :-/

Is anyone going to try to find out how many women were waitlisted? Seems like quite a few. I guess some spaces open up because of insufficient financial aid. My heart goes out to the women who get in to, but cannot attend, their dream schools because of money.

That's precisely what I meant. :) Thanks. Barnard has a lot of more applicants, but Wellesley has a more competitive applicant pool.

i know this may sound stupid...but how do u find out if you were admitted/waitlisted/rejected??? and when was this date?!?!?! sorry for the stupidity...i have been having difficulty keeping up with dates...i was sent a maybe letter...

^Socker, you will get your decision in the mail soon. A lot of people have gotten them. I haven't gotten mine yet.

wooo soccerchick
another person from Texas who hasn't gotten theirs
So I'm not alone!

Me neither, I am from Texas also. I think we should get it by today or at the most tomorrow.

Hopefully.
I was getting a little paranoid because on the RD thread someone from Texas got theirs on Monday.
But I figure if I don't get it today, it got lost just like all my other mail does...

Today's mail came and still no letter from Wellesley. I called the admissions office and they said to wait till Friday because some areas have still not got it. If you do not get it by Friday then call us and we will give you your decision over the Phone.
