I was recently waitlisted by a PhD program. I am wondering what the proper etiquette is at this point. I know undergrads are encouraged to be very proactive, but is the same advice true for graduate school waitlists?

Particularly, how should I respond to the waitlist email (from the DGS, ccing some important professors)? Should I reply all and write about how awesome I am and how much I love the program? Or is a simple thank you better?

I was waitlisted earlier this year and got off. I replied to my waitlist email by saying something like "Thank you very much for the information. I was very impressed by your program at the interview day and hope to hear from you sometime soon regarding my final status with the program. Please let me know if I could provide you with any further information as you make your decision.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
