I have not been wait listed and I am preparing in advanced to send a letter or email to demonstrate interest because the school I am waiting to hear back from is releasing their admission decision soon. My question- is it more effective to write them a letter or to email? And call as well?

I don’t understand. If you haven’t been waitlisted yet, what’s the point in contacting them? You might be about to get in.

I know but I want to have the letter done so it goes out right away in case I am wait listed

You’re seriously overthinking this. Any format is fine. And your submission of aforementioned letter 3 minutes after you receive your WL notification won’t matter.
