If I were to write some sort of letter to a college at this point saying how interested I am in going there, could this carry any weight? Thanks.
Not at this point- pretty much all decisions have been finalized. If you are waitlisted somewhere, you can write a LOCI.
I thought colleges often decide on applicants until the last week or so. Maybe I’m wrong.
They might still be deciding on a few, but you can’t know whether they have already decided on your app or not. I doubt a letter now would do anything.
some schools have released decisions already, whereas others are preparing to. the process is pretty much over.
I would suggest writing a letter if you get waitlisted. Most freshmen application decisions are being made now if they are not already made.
^Yes, if you get waitlisted at a school you really want to go to, you should DEFINITELY send a letter of continued interest. There are a lot of tips on this site for doing that.
Thank you all for the advice.
