Wake Forest Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

not yet, wont do one till mid april

DD was accepted and we’re shocked! It’s been a brutal year filled with WL. Very excited! But waiting to see the financial aid offer.

They have been doing some amazing stuff for the students during the pandemic. Last week they started doing vaccinations too.

Watch in the portal for a date change on the Status Update and that should a FA update.

I thought the rule of thumb with waitlists is to send them a short email as soon as you get on the list. A long one a few weeks later when the angry parent emails have subsided. And another short one every month or so after that so they don’t forget you.

idk my college counselor said that since schools dont go to waitlist till after May 1st, the only thing I need to do for now is send a LOCI in mid april

My D was accepted. No interview and she didn’t receive a text. Actually, she received very little communication in any form from Wake Forest since she submitted her app.

Congratulations and hopefully you can take a collective sigh of relief. I have 2 daughters at Wake. One daughter is a biology and chemistry major and is graduating in May. She was pre vet and will be going to UPenn for vet school in the fall. My other daughter is a freshman applied mathematics/pre med major. My daughters love the school and all it offers.
I will be happy to answer any questions about Wake and wish everyone the best of luck in picking the right school for you.

SAT/ACT: 1480
School/Major: Computer Science
Rank: 2/190 something

Definitely was my match/safety but that’s okay. Just heard I got into Georgetown so I think I’ll be able to let this one go. Still sad, I really liked Wake and thought my interview went well.

waitlisted.
international (US citizen but live abroad). 3.87 gpa, 1370 sat. Wake was a reach, but I’m not too keen on going anymore, so I will not be accepting my place on the waitlist. good luck to those of you still waiting!!

Son, Accepted. 4.43W/3.96UW 35ACT, Varsity athlete state, robotics was big with leadership and community service in that area bringing STEM to underserved communities and bringing in 2 all-female schools to build programs. I think that helped. Haven’t visited but might have to. Consider ourselves fortunate to get the acceptances he has as it seems like such a crap shoot this year. Rooting for all of you

Waitlisted. 1490 and 3.74 Unweighted. I’m disappointed but not really got into Emory main campus and UNC. This just goes onto show how random this process is. I’m really surprised I got into UNC and Emory. I’m disappointed by this decision but would not have picked Wake anyway. Good luck to everyone!

Decision: Waitlisted (first WL, I was worried I was being left out, haha)
State/Country: International student from the UK
GPA: 4.0 UW on school’s hardest curriculum (9999988777 at GCSE, predicted 4 A*s at A-level)
SAT/ACT: Test Optional
School/major: Religious studies
Rank: School doesn’t rank but GCSEs and A-levels put me in the top 5% nationwide
Activities: Have given theology talks alongside an Oxford professor to audiences of ~100k, run a popular theology blog, trained carer for special needs children, have placed in national chess tournaments, 4 HS clubs, volunteering here and there

A little disappoited simply because I thought my interview went really really well and I was very proud of my essays - I thought they made this one of the strongest applications I’d submitted. But I can’t get too upset; the acceptance rate alone makes it a high match at least (don’t understand how WF can be safety for anyone, especially with the emphasis on fit). I’ve declined my spot on the WL as I’ve already got UVA, UNC with honors, and Baylor with university scholars so don’t see myself picking Wake over any of those. A huge congrats to everyone accepted and good luck to all those hopeful Deacs accepting their place on the waitlist!!
