Wake Forest Spring 2020 Transfer??!??

Hi!! I am thinking about transferring to Wake Forest next semester (I am a sophomore). I just got in yesterday and am very excited. I was wondering what the social scene was like at Wake (frats/bars, can you get into bars with a fake, are there darties, etc). Is it stressful/competitive? Can you join a club sport and other clubs in the spring semester?
***I really want to be in a sorority. Is it really hard to rush as a sophomore without knowing people in them? Also this is very specific, but I know most people study abroad in the fall at Wake, so I was wondering if I would still likely be able to do so as a Spring transfer (I have a tonnn of credits). Also how are the Biology and Econ departments? Wow. Sorry I have so many questions. Do transfers get on campus housing? How is the on campus housing? Do people play intramurals and attend sports games?

Hi, I can answer most of your questions:
There are fraternity and house parties nightly Wednesday thru Saturday nights, there are darties often when the weather is nice. My DD has not tired to get into a bar with her fake because she thinks hers isn’t that good and will not work.

There is another activities fair after winter break so you can find out about clubs, etc. My DD is rushing in January before classes start but rush registration closed a month ago, but maybe they have exceptions for transfer students. DD has been going on rush dates all fall semester to get to know girls in each of the 8 sororities.

I believe most students go abroad fall of junior year. I can’t answer about the Bio and Econ departments. All students must live on campus for 3 years, so there is enough housing for at least that many students.

Also spring class registration ended a month ago as well, I’m not sure there would be many spaces left in classes unless they opened spots for you.

It will be hard for you socially. About 80% of the girls go Greek as 2nd semester freshman. Only 3 girls on my floor didn’t. The decisions are mostly made by end of fall semester after having been “unofficially rushed” all fall. There are clubs and other things but life will be very quiet and slow for you if you are someone who likes to party.
