Wake Forest University REGULAR DECISION Class of 2020

My daughter received her acceptance letter on Monday and she requested financial aid

Has anyone been called to be off of the waitlist and admitted??

@juliamiles I think the earliest we will be notified by is May

Thank you- I read a different forum that said people were accepted from wait list but it was an old forum

has anyone heard about the partial merit scholarships yet?

Son hasn’t.

Just received my waitlist letter… pretty bumbed :frowning:

strange - he seems like a great candidate

Did anyone else receive a financial aid letter today?

I got my financial aid on Saturday. Sadly, it was not enough. I received a $30,000 scholarship, but I really can’t come up with a reason to pay extra when I have other great options. Good luck to the rest of you!

this is really late but waitlisted… staying on the waitlist because this was a top choice, hoping for the best

Good luck @SoccerGrl010 ! Our kid was waitlisted as well but has decided to go with University of Michigan.

I just got back from admitted students day with my son and it was really well done and the speakers/professors were all very interesting. Seems like a great school and supportive community. First time on the campus and pictures, although impressive, do not do it justice.

Just peeking at this thread now. Hard to find any trends regarding who got accepted/waitlisted this yer. Anyone have any opinions? When I look at the stats in the thread, some very good students were waitlisted. My only guess is that demonstrated interest may have tipped the scales for the admitted kids. Any truth to that? Or were the accepted students with marginally lower stats URM and didn’t state that in their posts?

vivincole… you said you were accepted, did you interview? Just curious. My daughter has same GPA and Wake is her first choice.

kaylamissy, I would strongly encourage your daughter to do a personal or Skype interview with Admissions. I believe that is one of the best ways to show interest in Wake. If you review Wake admissions website you can see they place a lot of importance in the interview. My daughter did a campus visit and a personal interview. I can not say that the interview got her accepted, but I can say we felt it helped show her interest in Wake.

If it help others her stats were: 4.0 u/w 4.51 w, SAT 1980.

I also have around the same stats and will be attending in the fall without having an interview, but in hindsight I would have for sure done the interview. I am international so I don’t if that has any effect on it.
